Description

Construction cost estimates are only as good as the data behind them.

Whether you’re pricing a small tenant improvement or a multi-million-dollar new build, the same question comes up on every project: where does this number actually come from, and can you trust it? RSMeans Data is one of the most widely used cost resources in the industry, but knowing where a number lives is different from knowing whether it’s the right number for your project, your location, and your scope.

An estimate that’s off by a few percentage points can mean a lost bid or a project that loses money from day one.

Estimators run into the same problems again and again: pulling data from the wrong CSI division, missing scope that should have been priced, applying a national average cost without adjusting for local conditions, or simply not knowing which RSMeans dataset fits square foot estimating versus detailed unit cost estimating. None of it is intuitive without training in how RSMeans data is organized, sourced, and applied.

So if you’re new to RSMeans and want a structured introduction, if you’ve used it for years but want to sharpen how you apply it across MasterFormat divisions, or if you’re responsible for reviewing estimates that others build and need to know what to check, this program is for you.

Join Neil Opfer, a longtime estimator, cost consultant, and construction management educator, for a full day of practical training on using RSMeans Data to develop accurate, defensible construction cost estimates.

You’ll leave this webinar ready to:

  • Explain why accurate data and reliable data sources matter for a defensible cost estimate
  • Apply RSMeans data to estimate concrete, masonry, and metals work (MasterFormat Divisions 3–5)
  • Use RSMeans to price wood, plastics and composites, thermal and moisture protection, openings, finishes, and specialties (Divisions 6–10)
  • Estimate fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems using RSMeans data (Divisions 21, 22, 23, and 26)
  • Price earthwork and exterior improvements with confidence (Divisions 31 and 32)
  • Use RSMeans data to estimate costs across major building systems and construction trades

An estimate built on the right data, in the right format, holds up: to your project manager, your client, and the bid you’re trying to win.

Learn how to put RSMeans Data to work across the major divisions of your next construction estimate.
