Description

Your survey can satisfy every county plat requirement and still miss Ohio’s own monumentation and measurement standard.

Miss it, and most times that means rework: a new stamp, another review. The ones that slip through turn into a liability claim.

A plat you got recorded isn’t necessarily final. Ohio gives routine ways to vacate, cancel, or force a replat.

And the approval process itself differs inside a municipality versus unincorporated territory. It’s not always as simple as it looks.

That’s why we put together this training…

…to keep your plats, your approvals, and your license off ground that keeps shifting under you.

You’ll leave this training knowing how to:

  • Meet Ohio’s actual minimum survey standard, not just your county’s plat checklist
  • Compare your county and municipal plat standards, instead of assuming one covers the other
  • Tell which approval process applies to your plat, inside city limits or out, before you file
  • Apply the separate rules for manufactured home communities and condos, not standard platting
  • Know what it actually takes to vacate, cancel, or replat and what stays on the books until you do
  • Tell when a missed standard means rework, and when it’s a real liability exposure

Learn from Joe Clase, a planner who has administered and reviewed plats for decades on behalf of various local governmental agencies, and Eric Pempus, a risk manager, licensed architect and attorney, insuring professionals against this exposure for 18 years.

Most missed standards cost you time. The one that slips through can cost you a claim.

This training is your chance to get the plat right.
