Buchanan IngersollMs. Friedberg is considered an authority on handling conflicts of interest, confidentiality and data security issues and other ethical obligations of lawyers. She is regularly asked to present nationally and locally, including for the ABA, Practicing Law Institute, Professional Education Network, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Aon Large Law Firm Symposium and other notable legal education programs. Prior to her current role as associate general counsel of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, Ms. Friedberg concentrated her practice in securities law, corporate finance and general business advising.
Roberta F. Green
Member & Attorney at Schuman McCuskey Slicer
Ms. Green joined Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer, PLLC, in May 1994 and became a member in 1999. Through her representation of individuals, corporations and political subdivisions (including utilities, school boards and cities), Ms. Green’s practice has come to focus on inter alia engineering practices. In particular, she has litigated negligence, professional liability, and property damages claims that have involved defending and sometimes challenging engineering decisions directly or indirectly. Throughout her years of practice, Ms. Green has handled litigations in these areas before administrative tribunals (including the Public Service Commission, the Environmental Quality Board, the West Virginia Workers Compensation Commission) and before state and federal courts, both across the region and beyond.
Dusty Gwinn
Dusty Gwinn Founding Partner & Attorney at Akers Gwinn
Mr. Gwinn has worked as legal counsel to engineers for over 17 years. He is an attorney, agent, and entrepreneur from Beckley, West Virginia. He has a law practice focusing on intellectual property, business transactions, estate planning, sports and entertainment law, and start-up ventures. Mr. Gwinn is a founding partner for the law firm Akers Gwinn with fellow patent attorney and mechanical engineer Robert Akers and also works as Independent Senior Counsel for Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, PLLC. He is a three-time graduate of West Virginia University (Biology-2000, MBA-2004, JD -2004). Mr. Gwinn has also been a founder, owner, partner, or manager of several West Virginia companies, including his own agency Wild Dog Management, LLC, New Legacy Sports, LLC and Beckley Flag Football, LLC. He is a United States Patent and Trademark Registered Patent Attorney and an NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor and WNBA Agent.
J.H. Mahaney

Recognized for his work on a variety of complex, high exposure cases, Mr. Mahaney has extensive trial and appellate experience in a wide variety of litigation matters. He has extensive experience in complex commercial and business litigation, including corporate and contract disputes, real estate claims, unfair competition, and intellectual property litigation. He also has handled construction litigation and disputes including construction defect claims, architects and engineers’ liability claims, contractor delay/disruption claims, bid disputes and additional work/changed conditions/change order litigation, catastrophic and mass tort litigation. Mr. Mahaney earned his B.A. degree from Bethany College and graduated magna cum laude with his J.D. degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Gregory Schillace
Gregory Schillace Founder & Attorney at Schillace Law Office
Mr. Schillace is the founder and the sole attorney of the Schillace Law Office. His practice focuses on a trial and appellate practice involving consumer law, civil and insurance litigation, insurance liability and coverage litigation, personal injury, truck and automobile accidents and injuries, as well as professional negligence and malpractice, and wrongful death from both the plaintiff and defendant’s perspectives. Mr. Schillace is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of West Virginia; the Western District of Pennsylvania; and, the Central District of Illinois He is a member of the West Virginia State Bar. He earned his B.S.B.A. degree in 1986 and J.D. degree in 1990 from West Virginia University.
