Course Title: Urban Stormwater System Design and Construction

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This 6.5 hour live presentation examines urban hydrology principles, the difference between separate and combined storm sewer systems, stormwater regulations and modeling, green stormwater infrastructure, separate storm sewer system design, and city-scale strategic stormwater planning.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss the principles of urban hydrology and differentiate separate stormwater systems and combined stormwater/wastewater sewer systems.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to locate and reference local municipal stormwater regulation and assist with stormwater modeling.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to participate in the design of a separate storm sewer system (MS4) by understanding drainage patterns, locating and spacing inlets and manholes, gutter designs, and material selection.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to describe green stormwater infrastructure practices, including site designs, stormwater basins, and stormwater infiltration.
