Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This course offers 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers and 6.5 HSW continuing education
hours to architects in all states. It offers 6.5 HSW continuing education hours to
landscape architects in most states. HalfMoon Education will not be seeking landscape
architect course approval in Florida, New Jersey, or North Carolina.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in
Florida (Provider No. 0004647), Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey
(Approval No. 24GP00000700), and North Carolina (S-0130). HalfMoon Education is
deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York engineers, architects,
and landscape architects via its registration with the American Institute of Architects
Continuing Education System (Regulations of the Commissioner §68.14(i)(2), §69.6(i)(2),
and §79-1.5(i)(2)). Courses approved by the AIA/CES qualify for Florida and New Jersey
architects. Other states do not preapprove continuing education providers or courses.

This course has been approved by the American Institute of Architects Continuing
Education System for 6.5 LU|HSW (Sponsor No. J885) and the Landscape Architect
Continuing Education System for 6.5 HSW PDHs. Only full participation is reportable to
the AIA/CES and LA CES.

The International Society of Arboriculture has approved this event for the following
CEUs: 6.5 Certified Arborist, Municipal Specialist; 5.75 Climber Specialist, Utility Specialist,
Aerial Lift; 3.25 BCMA Management; 2 BCMA Science; 1.25 BCMA Practice.

The Society of American Foresters has approved this course for 6.5 SAF Cat. 1 hours.

In-person attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available
after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance
certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen
business days.

Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who complete this event online,
respond to prompts, and earn a passing score (80%) on the quiz that follows the
presentation (multiple attempts allowed).

 

COVID Health Considerations: In accordance with guidance from the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only those who are fully vaccinated should
gather indoors without masks. Those not yet fully vaccinated should continue social

Planet Care Landscape and Arboricultural Services
Mr. Palmer is a Consulting Arborist, Board Certified Master Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture, and an advanced Tree Risk Assessor. He is an author, speaker, and trainer, on subjects including The Future of Urban Forestry, Deforestation By Design™, The New Construction Paradigm, and The Leadership Laws of Nature. His focus is on trees in urban and construction environments, soil deficiencies and the importance of soils for sustainable mature trees, increasing urban tree canopies by ensuring trees live to maturity, and unsustainable landscape designs. His areas of expertise include young tree training, proper pruning and planting practices, biomechanics, soil and water management, urban forestry, tree biology, and healthy root system development.

Course Description: This course examines the scientific, economic and aesthetic benefits of trees, the science of healthy and mature trees, trees are design elements, trees and site requirements, trees that outlive designs, and threats to trees.

Learners will be able to discuss the biology and anatomy of trees, including the interaction between soils, roots, oxygen, and stress.
