All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.
Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

President of the Georgia Arborist Association Peachtree ArboristsMr. House is a board-certified master arborist and president of the Georgia Arborist Association, the Georgia chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Currently, he works for Peachtree Arborists, a tree care network specializing in tree maintenance plans. He has worked for other private tree companies, the Georgia Forestry Commission, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service to help communities achieve a variety of natural resource goals, all related to trees and habitat. He has dual bachelor of science degrees in Forestry and in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management.

Course Description: This 6.5-hour course for design professionals explains how to protect and incorporate trees in the design and construction process, implement ongoing tree maintenance and protection plans, and handle environmental threats such as pests and disease. The course will also discuss tree biology, anatomy and health, identify their environmental functions, and focus on trees that are native to the southeastern United States.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify the various environmental services provided by trees, including wind breaking, passive cooling, air filtration, carbon sequestration, and erosion control.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explain the basic principles of tree biology and anatomy, understand how trees are impacted by the site, soil and climate, and discuss specific trees and their recommended placement.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to evaluate tree assessment practices and diagnostic techniques to implement ongoing tree maintenance and protection plans to ensure a healthy environment for the long term.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify threats to trees in the environment, such as pests and disease, and implement both proactive and reactive treatment options.

Learners will be able to discuss how to design with trees, specifically tree selection and placement, to utilize trees as elements of design.
