This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Michael Spadaccini

Michael Angelo Masonry, LTD

From 1987 to present day, Mr. Spadaccini has been the managing member/owner of Michael Angelo Masonry, LTD. He is involved in consulting, planning and execution of residential/commercial masonry construction and historic restoration projects. Since 2014, he has provided forensic moisture/stucco testing, analysis and project management services. Mr. Spadaccini has been a featured speaker on Webinars, live Radio and Stage presentations for professional continuing education programs in North America and Canada for various Home Inspector Associations, Industry Certification Groups and Software Design Companies.  He is considered  a leading expert in his field and is sought out for his industry knowledge and professionalism. 

From 2010 to 2016 he has been an independent national EPA instructor teaching and moderating federally accredited on-site training sessions in classroom venues throughout the country. Mr. Spadaccini has also served as President of Royal Abstract, Inc from 1994 to 2009 where he conducted searching of  land records and survey abstracting to underwrite Title Insurance in the Residential and Commercial marketplace.

Course Title: Stucco Design, Installation and Repair

Course Description: This six-hour course examines the design, installation and repair of stucco as a building material. The course will explore the history of stucco as an exterior cladding, assess different types of stucco and reference applicable building codes. The course will focus on the design and installation of both traditional and synthetic stucco, including flashing and cracking minimization, and provide repair techniques.

Learners will be able to discuss the history of stucco as an exterior cladding, identify different types and applications of stucco, and reference applicable building codes and standards.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to describe the properties, benefits and drawbacks of traditional stucco material, explain the installation process, and utilize stucco finishes.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss the thermal behavior of synthetic stucco, explain the installation process, and explore the addition of moisture management systems to synthetic stucco.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to analyze strategies of flashing stucco around doors and windows, minimize cracking, removing compromised materials and correct underlying problems of failed stucco.
