Webinar Instructions

All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

These live, interactive webinars are designed to qualify for engineer, architect and/or landscape architect continuing education credit in most states. Shoots Veis P.E.

Mr. Shoots Veis is an experienced and engaging public speaker, having given hundreds of public presentations at professional conferences, college courses, public meetings, TEDx and service clubs.  He served a five-year term on the Billings, Montana city council, where he took an interest in getting presenters to engage with the audience.  Mr. Veis spent several years appearing as an actor in dozens of productions at Billings Studio Theatre and hosts the Your County, Your City and Your Schools programs on Community 7 Television.

Course Description: This live lecture presentation examines soil science, causes of erosion and sedimentation, practices to minimize site disturbances, preservation of native vegetation, practices to respond to site disturbances during construction, and erosion and sediment control best practices.

Learners will be able to describe construction site design and management practices that minimize site disturbance, reducing the possibility of erosion and sedimentation caused by construction site activities.

Learners will be able to take actions to preserve native vegetation on construction sites, reducing erosion and sedimentation.

Learners will be able to evaluate erosion and sediment control best practices to determine the technique(s) that offer the greatest benefits for specific projects.
