Webinar Instructions

All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Natalie Niemann

Registered Architect
Ms. Niemann is an Associate Professor of Construction Technology – Architectural Technology in the Engineering Science & Industrial Technology Department at Suffolk County Community College. She received her Master of Architecture degree from State University of New York, Buffalo, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology. Ms. Niemann is also president of Niemann Architecture, P.C. She has been a licensed/registered architect since January 2007 which is the same month that she became a full-time faculty member at SCCC. In September 2012, Ms. Niemann founded Niemann Architecture, P.C. and has continued to practice in her profession while maintaining her position at the college. Most of her current professional work is residential and is located on the north and south forks of Long Island.

Course Title: Revit Basics of Building Modeling

Course Description: This seven-hour course examines building information modeling through the use of Revit software, It explains the Revit interface and demonstrates how to get a project started, creating basic model elements, adding components, creating sheets, drafting a 2D view, and creating 3D views.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain the principles and objectives of building modeling and discuss the basics of Revit.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to become comfortable working with the Revit interface and will be able to initiate a project.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to create basic model elements, including walls, windows, stairs curtain walls, doors, floors, ceilings and roofs, and they will be able to add other components such as plumbing and furniture.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to draft 2D views of models and be able to create 3D views with walk-throughs.
