All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Mechanical Engineer at BMH Engineering LLC

Mr. Walters is a professional engineer and is certified in plumbing design through the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. His responsibilities overlap into the professional engineering areas of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, fire protection engineering, and process engineering. He performs calculations, sizes equipment, and prepares plumbing design and construction documents. Mr. Walters is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). He earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.

Course Title: Pumping and Piping Systems

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This course examines applications for various pumping and piping systems and components in the built environment. Topics include pump construction and applications, hydraulic principles and calculations, design standards and codes, piping system components and materials, and pump and piping system troubleshooting.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain how centrifugal pumps are used in closed systems, open systems, series and parallel pumping applications.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify key design standards and codes including the IPC, NFPA and the USGBC.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to distinguish when and where to use copper vs. plastic piping system components.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to perform basic system calculations related to pipe sizing, friction loss, and pump sizing.

Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to recognize pump and piping system problems and know how to handle them.
