This webinar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects and landscape architects in North Carolina.

Engineers, architects and landscape architects seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this webinar, in most cases. Daryl Norris
Civil Engineer, Floodplain Manager with Norris Environmental Engineering, PLLCMr. Norris is a civil engineer for the City of Greenville, North Carolina, specializing in stormwater engineering, and he is the owner of Norris Environmental Engineering, PLLC. Mr. Norris is a professional engineer, a certified floodplain manager, a certified professional in stormwater quality, and a certified professional in low impact development. Prior to working for the City of Greenville, he worked with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the North Carolina Division of Water Quality. Mr. Norris was also the environmental specialist and floodplain administrator for the City of Wilson. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Management and a master’s degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, both from North Carolina State University.

Course Description: This course examines stormwater permit requirements and procedures, the science of stormwater, evaluating stormwater best management practices, developing stormwater pollution prevention plans, and the inspection, monitoring, maintenance and recordkeeping of stormwater management practices.

Learners will be able to describe the contents of stormwater pollution prevention plans, including best management practices and plans for required inspection, maintenance and record keeping.

Learners will be able to select the appropriate design solutions and technologies to protect stormwater management systems from erosion, sedimentation and other threats during and after construction.
