All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Managing Construction with AIA Document A201: General Conditions
This webinar offers 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers in most states and 6.5 continuing education hours to architects licensed in states that accept non-HSW coursework.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida (Provider No. 0004647), Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700), and North Carolina (S-0130). This course does not qualify for New York engineers or architects.

The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System has approved this course for 6.5

Adrian D’Acry

Founding Partner at D’Arcy Vicknair in New Orleans
Mr. D’Arcy’s primary practice areas include commercial litigation, with a focus on construction litigation and surety litigation. He is one of the founding partners at D’Arcy Vicknair, LLC. He has been a LEED Green Associate for over eight years and is currently pursuing his LEED AP B+D accreditation. Mr. D’Arcy also advises clients on sustainability issues on commercial construction projects, has presented numerous lectures on green building, and has written newsletter articles on sustainability issues. He graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School in New Orleans and has taught Louisiana Construction Law at Loyola law school as an adjunct professor. Mr. D’Arcy is licensed to practice law in all Louisiana State courts; the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana; the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals; the United States Court of Federal Claims; and other federal district courts across the country.

David Green

Associate Attorney at Foulston Siefkin LLP
Mr. Green is an attorney at Foulston Siefkin LLP in Overland Park, Kansas. His practice includes design and construction contract drafting and negotiation and dispute resolution through litigation and arbitration. Mr. Green represents a wide range of clients across the construction industry, including owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and design professionals. He has an undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Kansas.

Andrew Vicknair

Founding Partner at D’Arcy Vicknair in New Orleans, LA

Mr. Vicknair worked as a software engineer for a major medical manufacturer and as an electrical engineer for a major chemical manufacturer prior to entering law school. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a BS degree in both electrical and biomedical engineering and obtained his law degree from Loyola Law School in New Orleans has taught Louisiana Construction Law at Loyola law school as an assistant adjunct professor. Mr. Vicknair is licensed to practice law in the states of Louisiana, Texas and New York and is a licensed patent attorney. He regularly uses his prior work experience as a part of his legal practice. Mr. Vicknair is one of the founding partners at D’Arcy Vicknair, LLC. His primary practice areas include construction law, construction litigation, surety law, and all phases of intellectual property, including litigation, prosecution, and transactional matters. Mr. Vicknair also practices in commercial litigation and claims related to construction defects, payment disputes, subcontractor claims, owner claims, and claims by general contractors. He lectures on construction law topics such as Louisiana lien law and general Louisiana construction law as well as intellectual property law topics, including trademarks, patents and copyrights.

Course Description: This course examines the purpose and function of the AIA Document A201, including the relationship of the and responsibilities of the parties to the contract/project and the HSW of the owners, occupants, and general public.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify who is authorized to do work on construction sites, and will be able to describe the rights and responsibilities of participants, enabling them to work more cooperatively with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other design professionals.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to describe the process for modifying the scope of work on a project, and will be able to execute and respond to change orders, reducing confusion and conflicts and facilitating the timely completion of ordered work.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to use the procedures in the General Conditions document to uncover construction defects and substandard work, and will be able to facilitate the correction of unsatisfactory work.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to put safety precautions into place to protect the safety of persons and property during the construction process.
