Continuing Education Credit Information

Each of these webinars offer 4.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 4.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects in all states.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida (Provider No. 0004647), Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700), and North Carolina (S-0130). Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who complete these events online, respond to prompts, and earn a passing score (80%) on the quiz that follows the presentation (multiple attempts allowed).

Speakers

Jared Agee, MCP CBO

Division Director of Building and Code Enforcement for St. Charles County, Missouri

Mr. Agee is the director of Building and Code Enforcement for St. Charles County, Missouri. Previously, he worked in urban and suburban municipal governments managing building code enforcement, facilities, and information technology. Prior to his public sector positions, Mr. Agee worked in the construction industry in design and project management.

He has an undergraduate degree in Architectural and Mechanical Design and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis. As a Master Code Professional, Mr. Agee is one of approximately 800 people to obtain the highest level of certification from the International Code Council. He currently holds a total of 28 certifications in building, energy, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and accessibility areas.

Mr. Agee is a former president of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI). In addition, he founded Regimen Consulting LLC, which provides code training and technology consultation to various organizations across the country.

Course Title: IRC Significant Changes – Chapters 1-10

Course Description: This course on the International Residential Code examines significant changes found in the 2021 version of the code, Chapters 1-10. Topics include a comparison of 2018 and 2021, a review of major changes, administration, definitions, building planning and technical requirements, and a review of relevant appendices.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss and reference major changes to the IRC between the 2018 and 2021 versions, and explain why the changes are important and how they will impact future construction projects.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify and describe changes to the Scope and Administration sections of the code found in Chapter 1 and the Definitions section of the code found in Chapter 2.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to comply with changes to the code found in Chapters 3-10, including building planning, foundations and floors, wall construction and covering, roof-ceiling construction and assemblies, and chimneys and fireplaces.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss and reference relevant appendices to Chapters 1-10 of the 2021 IRC.
