Webinar Instructions

All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

These live, interactive webinars are designed to qualify for continuing education credit for professional engineers and architects in most states. Please see each webinar listing for the number of available continuing education credits. Course participants need to be aware of any licensing restrictions on online learning to fulfill their continuing education requirements.

Tyler James, Case Foundation

Project Manager and Superintendent for Case Foundation
Mr. James holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been part of the construction industry and Case Foundation for over 10 years. Mr. James is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), and the ADSC. He has worked on a number of notable projects including: – The I-65 Lincoln Bridge in Louisville, KY – The I-40 over the White River Bridge in Hazen, AR – The Tappan Zee Bridge in New York – Secant wall and drop and vent shafts for the Jefferson Barracks Tunnel Project in StLouis, MO – Auger Cast Piles for the CONRAC Facility at O’Hare Airport in Chicago, ILMr. James’ area of expertise is in soil and rock bearing drilled shafts, secant walls, augercast piles, and deep rock drilling.

Course Description: This 2.5 hour, live, interactive webinar presentation examines ground modification techniques for foundation design and construction, drilled shafts and Continuous Augured (CFA) piles, and driven piles and micropiles.

Learners will be able to consider the use of vibro technologies for soil improvement during deep foundation design and construction.

Learners will be able to use grouting technologies to improve soils during deep foundation design and construction.

Learners will be able to identify the benefits of using drilled shafts and continuous flight auger piles for deep foundation construction.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to determine applications for driven piles and micropiles for deep foundation construction.
