All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Course Title: Deep Foundations and Excavations

Course Description: This 7.0 hour live lecture presentation examines soil mechanics, bearing capacity, earth retention, types of deep foundations, excavation safety, pile design, and installation and testing.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain the importance of understand soil characteristics of the soil on deep foundation sites, discuss earth pressure theory, and be able to identify and describe earth retention options when working with deep excavations.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify and describe types of deep foundations and hybrid foundations and their applications.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to comply with OSHA requirements for work safety during excavation and trenching and water management and egress practices.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss deep foundation pile design considerations, including determining effective stress , estimating axial capacity, skin friction from granular soils and cohesive soils, end bearing conditions, uplift and down drag, lateral resistance, and settlement computations.
