Course Description: This two-hour course provides an overview of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), where they are found in the environment, how they got there, how they are transported, the dangers associated with them, the regulations surrounding them and how to remove them at both a commercial and individual level.

Learners will be able to discuss what PFAS compounds are, their history and usage, where they are found in the environment and how they got there.

Learners will be able to describe the ways in which PFAS is transported through the environment and related hydrologic principles.

Learners will be able to discuss the current regulations for drinking water contamination and what water companies do to remove PFAS from the water.
