Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

Continuing Education Credit Information
Current Issues in Landscape Architecture for the Eastern US
This course is open to the public and offers 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to landscape architects licensed in all states.

The Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System has approved this course for 7.0 HSW PDHs. Only full participation is reportable to the LA CES.

HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York landscape architects via its registration with the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (Regulations of the Commissioner §79-1.5(i)(2)).

LA CES-approved activities having the HSW designation are considered approved activities by the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects and do not require further review.

The Florida DBPR Board of Landscape Architecture generally accepts courses approved by the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES). Landscape architects licensed in Florida are encouraged to review The 2021 Florida Statutes, 481.313(4) to determine course eligibility.

Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who complete this event, respond to prompts, and earn a passing score (80%) on the quiz that follows the presentation (multiple attempts allowed).

Speakers

Jeffrey A. Brem

Jeffrey A. Brem is a professional engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. He has led his own small civil engineering and land surveying practice for over 27 years with two offices and up to 25 employees. Mr. Brem’s experience includes designing private land developments, stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, roadways, surveying, and construction management.

Dr. Jairo Garcia

Dr. Jairo Garcia is an expert in urban sustainability, climate change and sustainability education. Dr. Garcia develops innovative policies and educational programs to make communities and cities cleaner, sustainable, resilient, and equitable. He is the lead author of Atlanta’s Climate Action Plan and led a collaborative effort with more than 40 stakeholders to the 100 Resilience Cities application, awarded to the City of Atlanta in 2016.
