Speakers

Mark R. Becker

Shareholder in the construction group of Fabyanske, Westra, Hart & Thomson, P.A., in Minneapolis

Over a 25-year career, Mr. Becker has represented international engineering firms, architects, design-builders, owners, construction managers, and specialty subcontractors on major horizontal infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and pipelines, and vertical infrastructure projects such as stadiums, convention centers, hospitals, and dams. He has also worked on industrial projects including process plants, power plants, grain elevators, and commercial and residential projects. He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, a former chair of the Construction Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association, a director of the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota, and a frequent speaker on construction law topics. Mr. Becker is nationally recognized as a leading advocate in the field of early resolution of complex construction disputes through mediation, many times without the need for a lawsuit for formal legal proceedings. He earned his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University, cum laude, Tau Beta Pi, and his law degree from the University of Iowa with high distinction.

Elise Radaj

Shareholder in the construction group of Fabyanske, Westra, Hart & Thomson, P.A., in Minneapolis

Ms. Radaj has experience representing owners, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers in a variety of disputes, including on both public and private projects. She assists clients at the beginning of projects via contract negotiations and after issues arise via formal and informal dispute resolution. Ms. Radaj is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Construction Council and Minnesota Association of Women Contractors. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Iowa State University and William Mitchell College of Law.

Leon Wells

Shareholder in the construction group of Fabyanske, Westra, Hart & Thomson, P.A., in Minneapolis

Mr. Wells has a decade of experience representing owners in pursuing errors and omissions claims against engineers, design-builders, and construction managers and in defending engineers, design builders, and construction managers from errors and omissions claims. He also has a focus niche in insurance coverage of construction and design disputes. Mr. Wells has been named a Rising Star several times. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois, and earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
