Course Title:  Complying with the Residential Provisions of the IECC 2021

Course Description: This course examines the residential provisions of the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), including Code development, scope and requirements, climate zones, code compliance alternatives, residential energy efficiency, HVAC systems, electrical power and lighting systems, and requirements for building additions, building alterations, repairs and change of occupancy.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss the development of the 2021 International Energy Efficiency Code, including the scope, general requirements, amendments and referenced standards.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to comply with IECC residential provisions for HVAC systems, including those for control systems, duct work insulation, service hot water, and mechanical ventilation.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to comply with IECC residential provisions for electrical power systems and lighting systems.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to comply with IECC residential provisions for building additions, alterations, building repairs and maintenance, and changes of occupancy.
