Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and offers 6.0 PDHs to professional engineers, 6.0 HSW continuing education hours to licensed architects, and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours to landscape architects in New York State.

Engineers, architects, and landscape architects seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this webinar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Course Title: Complete Streets and Active Transportation Systems in New York State

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This 6-hour live course focuses on the concept of Complete Streets, the notion and design goal of making streets inclusive and accessible for all people regardless of their age, ability, or mode of transportation, and other active transportation systems. This concept provides a framework for planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of streets and public areas.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to understand and incorporate the policies and infrastructure of Complete Streets, including virtual walk audits, general concepts and physical infrastructure.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to implement and measure Complete Streets by studying pilot projects, case studies, funding sources, and common data points.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to understand the needs and landscape that are specific to New York state by analyzing data from the New York Cycling Census, and discuss appropriate design goals based on the data.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss emerging transportation systems, including bicycle and transit integration, micromobility, and E-bikes.

Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to share their Complete Streets projects and lessons learned from their community with the instructor and other learners.
