All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Mr. Barron has worked in the plumbing industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in operations, training, repairs and maintenance.  He has installed countless water service systems and repairs, water distribution systems and repairs, DWV systems and repairs, gas piping systems and repairs, gas/electric/tankless water heater installations and repairs, and thousands of plumbing maintenance (tune-ups) reports. Mr. Barron’s professional licenses and certificates include Tennessee Limited License Plumber, Electrical Certificate, Major Appliance Repair Certificate, Universal EPA License, Certified Residential Water Heater Technician, Rinnai Certified Tankless Trainer (Level 3), Certified Cross Connection Tester, GasTite Qualified Installer, and TracPipe Counterstrike Qualified Installer. While he has a love for plumbing, Mr. Barron also enjoys spending time with my family kayaking and hiking the trails in Tennessee. Pickle Ball has recently become his favorite activity!

Course Title: Best Practices in Plumbing Design and Construction: For Residential and Small Commercial Building

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This six-hour course focuses on best practices related to three important plumbing goals: preventing backflow, removing waste, and filtering water. The course will use relevant building codes found in the the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and International Residential Code (IRC) as a foundation and investigate the ten most common plumbing violations.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify cross connections, define backflow, and utilize strategies to prevent backflow based on an understanding of hydraulics.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explain how city sewer systems and independent septic systems operate and what a lift station is and how it works.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to describe how chlorine and calcium affect water systems and evaluate the types and costs of water filtration systems.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify the most common plumbing violations found involving water/sewer inspections, rough-in plumbing inspections, and underground plumbing inspections.

Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to analyze relevant plumbing codes and standards, including the IPC and IRC and how to determine which code applies to a project.
