All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Continuing Education Credit Information

These webinars are open to the public and are designed to qualify for 4.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 4.0 HSW or Non-HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida (Provider No. 0004647), Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00000700) and North Carolina (S-0130). HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York engineers and architects via its registration with the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (Regulations of the Commissioner §68.14(i)(2) and §69.6(i)(2)). Other states do not preapprove continuing education providers or courses.

The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System has approved most of these courses for 4.0 HSW LUs (Sponsor No. J885). AIA is pending for the Code Fundamentals webinar. Only full participation is reportable to the AIA/CES.

The International Code Council has approved these events for .4 CEUs in the specialty areas of Building, Fire, Energy or Electrical (depending on course) (Preferred Provider No. 1232).

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

Building Inspector for SAFEbuilt, Inc.

Mr. Iliff has been a certified building official for 10+ years serving communities in Texas, Illinois, and Missouri. He has taught classes on the residential, building, and property maintenance codes with a focus on preparing students for certification exams and effective administration. Mr. Iliff has 30+ years of experience and certifications as a city planner, floodplain manager, and code enforcement officer. He earned an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University.

Course Description: This course on the 2021 IRC (part of a 10-part series) examines means of egress code requirements and compliant design. The course will focus on emergency escapes, rescue openings, stairs, ramps, hallways, doors, handrails, window controls, and accessibility.

Learners will be able to analyze and adopt emergency escape systems and rescue opening designs.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with egress requirements impacting stairs, ramps, hallways, doors and landings.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss accessibility code requirements related to fire safety and means of egress.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to utilize guards, handrails and window controls in code-compliant egress design.
