Webinar Instructions

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

This webinar offers 6.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education
hours to architects licensed in all states.

Mary Conger

Conger Construction Services, LLC
Mary Conger has been in the plumbing field since 1996 and has been a plumbing educator since 2010, beginning as a plumbing instructor for an apprentice program with TSTC/Waco and becoming a continuing professional education instructor. She has true field experience as a journeyman and master plumber. Ms. Conger has owned her own plumbing business, has served as a plumbing/mechanical inspector for the City of Dallas, and has become a plumbing/mechanical plans examiner. Her education also has prepared her for this role with her bachelor’s degree in Technology and Performance Improvement and her master’s degree in Engineering Technologies with a concentration in plumbing. Ms. Conger is now working towards her doctorate in Educational Leadership. She brings knowledge as well as experience to the classroom.

Course Description: This course examines the development, scope and application of the 2018 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), including its general regulations, and provisions for gas piping installations, chimneys, vents, fireplaces, and appliances.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to fine the scope and application of the IFGC, and they will be able to identify changes coming to the 2021 IFGC.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to discuss IFGC compliance standards for appliance locations, installation, piping support, access to and service support, condensate disposal, temperature control, explosion control, and heating and cooling calculations.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to interpret and explain IFGC provisions for gas piping installations, including pipe sizing and materials, installation, inspection, testing, purging, controls, valves, and connections.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to interpret and explain IFGC provisions venting, exhaust hoods, chimneys, specific appliances, fireplaces, heaters, furnaces, dryers, cooking appliances, water heaters, and specialty equipment.
