Masonry Inspections and the Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) Code

   Quality and construction, including an overview of masonry special inspection requirements

   General design requirements for masonry according to the Masonry Standards Joint Committee (MSJC) Code

      • General analysis and design considerations

         • Specific requirements for various structural elements

   • Allowable stress design of masonry (unreinforced and reinforced)

   • Strength design of masonry (unreinforced and reinforced)

   • Seismic design requirements

   • Veneer (both anchored and adhered veneer)

All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the date of the conclusion of the series.

Elias Toubia

University of Dayton

Dr. Toubia is an assistant professor with the University of Dayton’s School of Engineering where he teaches classes in mechanics, civil engineering materials, design of concrete structures, masonry design, design of timber structures and structural dynamics. His research interests include innovative structural design systems, composite materials and experimental testing, behavior of reinforced concrete and masonry structures. Dr. Toubia is a member of the American Society of Engineering Education, the American Concrete Institute, and The Masonry Society.  Dr. Toubia holds a US Patent and an outstanding paper award from the Masonry Society Journal. Dr. Toubia has extensive experience in designing complex structures and several publications in structures and materials featured in major peer-reviewed journals.
