Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers up to 6.5 HSW continuing education hours to architects, landscape architects, and professional engineers in most states, including New York.

HalfMoon Education is deemed a New York-approved continuing education provider for architects and landscape architects via its affiliation with the American Institute of Architects. HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education provider for New York engineers (NYSED Sponsor No. 35) and New Jersey professional engineers (Approval No. 24GP00000700).

This event is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885) and the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System for 6.5 HSW PDHs. Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA/CES and LA/CES. Courses approved by the AIA qualify for New Jersey architects.

This event offers a continuing education opportunity to construction contractors, but it has not been approved by any state with a continuing education requirement for contractors.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Speakers

Joe Koziell

After graduating from New Hampshire Technical College, Mr. Koziell’s first job was with New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and he has been involved in construction/ excavation since then. He has traveled extensively along the east coast of the US and Canada dealing with issues related to construction and earth disturbing activities. Mr. Koziell is a CESSWI (certified erosion, sediment, stormwater inspector). He has many years of site visits, which when coupled with his broad knowledge of erosion prevention and sediment control BMPs, make him a frequent speaker at industry-related events. Mr. Koziell is a recognized authority on the National Pollutant Discharge System and has presented at national and international conferences. He is active in many industry-related organizations and serves on the board of directors for the New England Chapter/International Erosion Control Association. Mr. Koziell also remains active in the community having served on planning boards and solid waste commissions.
