Continuing Education Credit Information
This seminar is open to the public and offers up to 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects and landscape architects and 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers in Iowa. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Iowa.
This seminar is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 7.0 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885) and the Landscape Architect Continuing Education System for 7.0 HSW PDHs.
Architects, engineers, and landscape architects seeking continuing education credit outside of Iowa will be able to apply the hours earned at this seminar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.
The Association of State Floodplain Managers has approved this course for 7.0 CECs.
This seminar offers a non-mandatory continuing education opportunity to construction contractors. It has not been approved by any state contractor licensing entity.
Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire program. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

MSA Professional ServicesSenior Water Resources Engineer at MSA Professional Services
Mr. Thompson currently leads MSA Professional Services Water Resources Specialty team of seven professionals out of their Madison, Wisconsin, office. They serve clients in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. He has over 20 years of experience, specializing in stormwater management including watershed management activities ranging from wetland restoration to aquatic habitat assessments, lake water quality improvement, flood reduction, and development regulation. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois and is also a certified floodplain manager. In March 2014, Mr. Thompson was elected to the board of the Iowa Floodplain and Stormwater Management Association (IFSMA). He also serves on the Legislative Committee of the Wisconsin Association for Floodplain, Stormwater, and Coastal Management (WAFSCM).
