Course Title: Parking Structure Design, Construction, and Maintenance

Delivery Method: Live

Course Description: This 6.5 hour live lecture presentation covers parking structure geometrics and layout, structural systems for parking structures, parking structure design, lateral force resisting systems, durability and maintenance, and construction issues.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify and comply with ADA requirements for parking structures and egress requirements.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to discuss parking structure loading requirements, design criteria, lateral force resisting systems, durability, and maintenance.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to identify and describe typical parking lot layouts and vertical circulation requirements.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to differentiate typical parking structure construction types (cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete, prestressed, precast concrete, steel construction) and compare their durability, restraints, confined site issues, and construction issues.
