Continuing Education Credit Information
This seminar is open the public and offers up to 6.5 HSW continuing education hours to architects and 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers in Alabama and most other states. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Alabama.
This seminar is registered with the American Institute of Architects for6.5 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885).
The International Code Council has approved this event for 6.5 contact hours (.65 CEUs) in the specialty area of Fire.
This program offers a continuing education opportunity to Alabama construction contractors, but it has not been submitted to any state contractor licensing entity for course approval.
Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.
Speakers
James Munger
Mr. Munger is a partner in the fire protection-engineering firm QDOT Engineering, LLC, that is headquartered in York, Pennsylvania. The firm provides a wide range of fire protection and code consulting services, including serving as a certified third-party inspection service in the State of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Munger began his fire protection career approximately 40 years ago as a firefighter with Cullman Fire Rescue and went on to serve as a Deputy State Fire Marshal with the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office. He operated his own consulting practice (James G. Munger and Associates, Inc.) for many years prior to becoming a partner with QDOT Engineering.
Mr. Munger holds a Doctorate in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering with undergraduate work in fire protection and fire science. He has been a member of the adjunct faculty of the National Fire Academy for over 30 years. He holds certifications from the International Code Council (ICC) as a building inspector and plans examiner, electrical inspector, plumbing inspector and plans examiner, mechanical inspector, and accessibility inspector and plans examiner.
He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and a fellow in the Institution of Fire Engineers.
