Timothy J. Texel is executive director and general counsel of the Nebraska Power Review Board. Mr. Texel was appointed by the Board to serve in this position in August 1998. He serves at the discretion of the Board. The Power Review Board is the state agency with primary jurisdiction over electric power suppliers operating in the State of Nebraska. In addition to his administrative and managerial duties, he is the hearing officer for all hearings conducted by the Board, is responsible for monitoring legislation pending before the Nebraska unicameral, providing testimony at legislative hearings on bills pertaining to the Board, representing the State of Nebraska before the Western Interconnection Regional Advisory Body, and other duties. Prior to his appointment by the Board, he served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Nebraska Department of Justice (1995-1998), where he handled civil matters for 12 state agencies including trial and appellate-level representation, review of new or amended regulations, drafting of Attorney General Opinions, and general advice on all administrative or regulatory matters. From 1991 to 1994 he served as a judge advocate in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
