Course Title: Temporary Excavation and Dewatering
Delivery Method: Live Online
Course Description: This six-hour course examines the planning, design, and execution of temporary excavation and dewatering systems used to support safe construction activities. The course focuses on evaluating soil and groundwater conditions, selecting appropriate dewatering methods, and coordinating excavation support to reduce risk to workers, adjacent structures, and the surrounding site.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions to determine appropriate temporary excavation and dewatering strategies.
Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to identify common excavation hazards and apply dewatering methods that reduce safety risks and ground instability.
Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to analyze how temporary dewatering systems interact with excavation support, nearby structures, and utilities.
Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to select and coordinate temporary excavation and dewatering measures that support safe construction sequencing and regulatory compliance.
