Description
Revit is increasingly central to multidisciplinary design and project delivery, but moving from AutoCAD to BIM requires more than learning new software. It means changing how projects are set up, produced, coordinated, and shared.
Many firms invest in Revit only to carry familiar CAD habits into BIM: manually overriding graphics, updating schedules and tags by hand, and recreating workflows Revit was designed to automate. Used effectively, Revit can improve consistency and efficiency through view templates, parametric content, automated schedules, shared coordinates, linked models, and worksharing tools.
This practical, demonstration-focused webinar shows design professionals how to make Revit work in the real world, where consultants may still use AutoCAD and valuable DWG content must be preserved.
Join Karen Krolewski, PLA, LEED AP, a landscape architect with more than 30 years of experience who previously led a firmwide transition from AutoCAD to Revit. She will demonstrate strategies for planning a successful transition, creating standards, using templates, filters, schedules, fills and hatches, integrating CAD information, and coordinating multidisciplinary models.
The program will also explore shared coordinates, linked files, worksets, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Forma, and Bridge.
Whether you’re preparing to adopt Revit or want to move beyond inefficient CAD-style workflows, you’ll gain practical strategies for more consistent, collaborative, and efficient project delivery.

Fogline Studio, Inc.Ms. Krolewski is a licensed landscape architect (PLA CA #4347) and founder of Fogline Studio, with more than 30 years of practice across the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work spans affordable and market-rate multifamily housing, parks and public spaces, K-12 educational campuses, and civic environments, with particular depth in on-structure design which includes courtyards over parking decks as well as roof deck spaces.
Before founding Fogline Studio, Ms. Krolewski was a Principal at PGAdesign, where she spearheaded the firm’s transition in 2010 from AutoCAD to Revit, leading staff training, standards development, and workflow redesign firmwide.
Her built work includes award-winning multifamily communities such as Lume & Vasara at Menlo Park both integrating swimming pools and resident amenities directly over parking structures, and the San Francisco Bay Area’s first all-inclusive playground, the Rotary PlayGarden. Ms. Krolewski is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, ReScape-certified rater, and an active ASLA member serving as a Small Business PPN Leadership Delegate.
Ms. Krolewski brings a rare combination to the classroom: the technical fluency of a Principal landscape architect who has designed and managed construction administration on complex, multi-consultant projects, and the clarity of an instructor who has already led an entire firm through a transition from AutoCAD to Revit.
