Continuing Education Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers, 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Course Title:  Rethinking SWPPP Success: Using Sustainable BMPs to Achieve Results

Delivery Method: Live Online 

Course Description: This two-hour course explores sustainable pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) with a focus on best management practices (BMPs) to protect water quality and minimize ecological harm. The course discusses the use of geotextiles, wildlife-friendly erosion control materials, and biodegradable alternatives to traditional products.

Learning Objectives: 

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to discuss key sustainable BMP methodologies, such as geotextiles, and their practical applications in SWPPP.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to identify and implement wildlife-friendly erosion control products based on case study evidence.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to analyze the unintended impacts of traditional BMPs (e.g., straw wattles) on wildlife and road safety.

Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to evaluate non-nutritive, biodegradable alternatives and how they align with sustainability and compliance goals.
