All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.5 PDHs for professional engineers, 6.5 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 6.5 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Speakers

Jeffrey A. Brem, P.E.

Registered professional engineer in MA, NH, and ME

Mr. Brem has led his own small civil engineering and land surveying practice for over 31 years with two offices and up to 25 employees. His experience includes designing private land developments, stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer systems, wastewater treatment facilities, roadways, surveying, construction management, and a host of other professional services primarily for private, for-profit companies. He has been involved in the design of over 3500 residential single-family house lots many of which were open space or cluster developments, thousands of condominium units, and over 2.5 million square feet of commercial/ industrial/institutional space. Mr. Brem has advised MassDEP in numerous task forces and committees including as a present full member of the Stormwater Advisory Committee and on the Title 5, Septic System Stakeholders Group. He is currently the president elect, past treasurer, and member of the Board of Directors for HBRAM (the Massachusetts Homebuilders Association). Mr. Brem is also the immediate past president of NEBRA, and a national delegate of the National Association of Home Builders based in Washington, DC. He has co-authored, with Harvard Law School Professors Joseph William Singer and Brandon Storm, a legal case study on development entitled the “Case of the Interfaith Neighbors,” July 2016 (PSW021-SM01). He is active professionally and recreationally as an avid skier, boater, and golfer.

Course Title: Residential Site Design

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This 6.5-hour course examines site feasibility and conceptual planning for residential project types, including single family and multi-family structures. The course will focus on the elements of residential site design: layout, grading, drainage, roadway planning, septic system planning, and stormwater management.

Learning Objectives:

Learners will be able to participate in site feasibility and conceptual planning that will identify potential constraints and opportunities.

Learners will be able to identify the design elements and distinctions of residential site planning and site design.

Learners will be able to explain how site grading for roadways, single family lots, and multi-family lots satisfies drainage requirements for stormwater, stormwater pollution prevention planning, and septic systems.

Learners will be able to understand the capabilities, applications and functions of AutoCAD, HydroCAD, 3-D modeling and other programs in site design.
