All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Chief Building Code Official for Cabarrus County Construction Standards in North Carolina

Mr. Love obtained his bachelor of science degree in Construction Technologies with a concentration in Community and Regional Planning from Appalachian State University. He is also a licensed general contractor. Mr. Love currently holds a Level III Standard Certificate in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical and Level I Standard Fire Certificate from the North Carolina Department of Insurance. He teaches Building and Plumbing I, II and III Standard Courses to North Carolina Building Inspectors as well as continuing education courses for the North Carolina Building Inspectors’ Association. Mr. Love is currently on the Executive Board of the North Carolina Building Inspectors’ Association as the president-elect, and he also serves on the Education Committee as the co-chair and Site-Development Committee.

Course Title: Plumbing Basics for Non-Plumbing Professionals

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This six-hour course explores the basics of plumbing design and system operation for non-plumbing professionals. The course begins with a review of code provisions of the International Residential Code and the International Plumbing Code and then demonstrates how to calculate the number of plumbing fixtures, provides best practices for using a variety of materials for pipes and fittings, and concludes with an analysis of common plumbing violations and how to resolve them.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to review plumbing-specific code provisions of the International Residential Code, explore the International Plumbing Code, and determine the code that applies to a specific project.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to determine applicable requirements to calculate the number of plumbing fixtures.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to adopt best practices for utilizing plastic, copper, galvanized steel and cast iron pipe and fittings.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify common plumbing violations that arise in rough-in inspections, water/sewer inspections and ground plumbing inspections, and discuss strategies used to resolve these violations.
