This webinar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects in Ohio. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Ohio.
Engineers and architects seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this webinar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Professor of Electrician Education, Freelance Electrical System Design and DraftingMr. White is a Professor of Electrician Education, Freelance Electrical System Design and Drafting Professor White’s 48 years’ experience in the electrical industry, 25 years of teaching apprentices, and CEU courses for Electrical Contractors, Architects, & Engineers has provided perspectives he enjoys sharing. He has written and revised more than 150 college course syllabi. Transitioned the entire Skilled Trades Catalog of courses from Quarter hours to Semester Hours. Professor White has created and changed numerous College Programs of Study for associate degrees and various trade certificates. He has taught for IEC Central Ohio, Columbus State Community College, and most recently Midlands Technical College Columbia, SC. Professor White has also been teaching CEU Seminars for various Training Agencies and private companies since 2007. He has a strong understanding of the National Electric Code, tries to create interactions with seminar attendees. Regarding Electrical System Design, he has completed over one hundred projects from simple single buildings, multiple occupancy strips, and multiuse buildings.

Course Description: This course examines National Electrical Code 2020 provisions found in Chapters 1-9 covering requirements for electrical installations, wiring and protection, grounding and bonding, wiring methods and materials, equipment, special occupancies, special equipment, special equipment, special conditions, communication circuits, and tables, with special attention given to requirements specific to Ohio.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain key provisions in Chapter 1-3 of the NEC, including new requirements for reconditioned equipment, limited access working space, short-circuit current documentation, GFCI protection for non-dwelling units, and single-phase dwelling services and feeders.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify and explain key provisions in NEC Chapters 7-8 for emergency systems, fire alarm circuits, and broadband communication systems.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to identify and discuss major changes in the 2017 National Electrical Code, including those for fixed industrial process heating, large-scale PV electric power production, energy storage systems, stand-alone systems, and direct-current microgrids.
