Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers, 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

President of the Georgia Arborist Association Peachtree Arborists

Mr. House is a board-certified master arborist and president of the Georgia Arborist Association, the Georgia chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Currently, he works for Peachtree Arborists, a tree care network specializing in tree maintenance plans. He has worked for other private tree companies, the Georgia Forestry Commission, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service to help communities achieve a variety of natural resource goals, all related to trees and habitat. He has dual bachelor of science degrees in Forestry and in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management.

Course Title: Mature Tree Management

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This two-hour live lecture presentation focuses on the benefits of and concerns for mature trees. Trees provide a wide range of benefits to the environment and community, but are also at greater risk of damage and infection than young trees. This course teaches learners how to properly maintain mature trees, identify agents of harm and manage risk.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to classify types of trees and explain the benefits of mature trees for individuals and the community.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify special concerns for mature trees and agents of harm to manage and minimize risk.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to monitor and keep records on mature trees to predict and prevent future failures or infections.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to develop and implement a protection plan.
