All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.
Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 7.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Christopher McWhite, CBO, HCO
Mr. McWhite is from Indiana and a graduate of Vincennes University. He is an accomplished building inspector and plans examiner, with 20 years of experience in public and non-profit code enforcement and inspections. Mr. McWhite has served as an inspector and plans examiner in Massachusetts, Georgia, Virginia, and Indiana. He has served on the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor Licensing exam rewriting committee to help transition the exam from the 2009 to the 2015 International Codes, as a member of the International Code Council’s IPMC/IZC Code Development Committee, and as member of the ICC Building Membership Council and most recently BCAC. Mr. McWhite also currently serves as an ICC Governmental voting member representing Region 6. He has earned a combined 21 certifications ranging from SBCCI (Legacy Code) to ICC, including Housing Code Official, Building Code Specialist, Plumbing Code Specialist, Certified Building Official, and is currently two certifications away from Master Code Professional.

Course Title: 2024 International Existing Building Code and More

Course Description: This seven-hour course analyzes code provisions of all 16 chapters of the 2024 International Existing Building Code (IEBC), as well as IRC Appendix J and IECC Chapter 5. The course focuses on the adoption of the IEBC by state and local governments, challenges and opportunities in working with existing buildings, and updates to the 2024 code. Chapters are addressed in depth, covering scope, administration, repairs, alterations, additions, changes in occupancy, and historic buildings. The course provides guidance for applying performance compliance methods, managing construction safeguards, and utilizing referenced standards.

Learners will be able to analyze the scope and administrative provisions of the 2024 IEBC and related codes to address compliance requirements.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to evaluate repair, alteration, and addition provisions, including prescriptive and performance compliance methods, to guide project design and construction.
