Course Title: How to Design and Construct a Cantilever Retaining Wall

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This two-hour presentation focuses on how to design and construct a cantilever retaining wall, starting with their components and applications. Design professionals will learn about the different kinds of cantilever retaining walls, the design process, and the pressure which is exerted on them, as well as examine field applications and case studies.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to define cantilever walls, their applications and components and differentiate between cast-in-place and precast cantilever retaining walls.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to discuss the forces that act on cantilever retaining walls and the design processes that are aimed at withstanding these forces.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss hydraulic pressure, the effects it has on wall behavior, and pressure relief systems.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to examine field applications and case studies to understand the best practices of cantilever retaining wall design and construction.
