Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Co-Founder of the Adaptive MTB Trails ProjectMr. Peachey is a passionate advocate for outdoor adventure and accessibility. His participation in adaptive sports spans over 30 years, including wheelchair racing, road cycling and most recently the discovery of his passion for mountain biking. As a co-founder of the Adaptive MTB Trails Project, Mr. Peachey has dedicated his efforts to improving access to mountain biking trails for riders of all abilities. As an adaptive mountain biker, he enjoys the freedom and adventure that going off road provides and is driven to help make that experience available to as many people as possible.

Course Description: This two-hour course focuses on strategies for improving the adoption and availability of adaptive mountain biking facilities, mainly the creation of adaptive trails. The course will explain the unique design characteristics of adaptive trails and explore how design professionals can build better trails and improve existing ones to accommodate users of all abilities.

Learners will be able to explain what adaptive mountain biking is, identify the unique trail features and characteristics and explain how they affect adaptive bikes.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explore the principles, features and characteristics of traditional mountain biking trail design and explain how they can conflict with adaptive criteria.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to utilize rolling contour trail design and determine maximum sustainable trail grades to accommodate physical sustainability considerations.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to adopt strategies for integrating adaptive opportunities into existing or new trail systems by developing alternate lines or rideabouts that maintain challenging obstacles for traditional riders.
