All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and offers 6.0 CLE hours to paralegals. Paralegal certification is not required to participate in this webinar.

The National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) has approved this course for 6.0 total CLE hours, which includes 2.5 substantive CLE hours, 2.5 non-substantive CLE hours, and 1.0 legal ethics CLE hours.

The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) has approved this course for 6.0 total CLE credits, which includes 5.0 general CLE credits and 1.0 ethics CLE credit.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

Ilena Alvarez is managing partner at The Law Firm of Ilena Alvarez, P.A. She graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law at Western Michigan University with a J.D. degree and an LL.M. degree in Taxation. Her focus of practice consists of estate planning, business planning, guardianships, and probate. She manages her own firm, while teaching paralegals and business majors. Mrs. Alvarez teaches Probate and Introduction to Law in the Paralegal Program at Florida Atlantic University.

Sarah E. Kay, Esq. BCS

Ms. Kay is a trial-tested litigator who is board certified in marital and family law by The Florida Bar, and who also is experienced in collaborative divorce. She is a certified family law mediator by The Florida Supreme Court and serves as a guardian ad litem. Ms. Mody is an associate with Birnbaum, Lippman & Gregoire, PLLC. Mrs. Mody practices exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. Prior to joining the firm, she pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.), achieving a Degree Specialization in International Business and M.B.A. at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. One of her passions is helping families and children through life’s difficult situations. She has given back to her communities by participating in numerous charitable organizations benefiting children, veterans, the disabled, and animals. She is an Advisory Board member of Horses Healing Hearts, a charitable organization in Delray Beach, Florida that provides equine-assisted therapy in response to the impact of substance abuse and trauma on children and families. Mrs. Mody is an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoys the beach, nature, and poker.
