Course Title: Construction Scheduling and Cost Control

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This eight-hour course provides strategies and guidance to design professionals on how to effectively select, plan, schedule, and manage construction projects with a focus on the Critical Path Method (CPM). The course will also discuss resource allocation, schedule compression, and cost control (labor and materials).

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to utilize the Critical Path Method (CPM) to plan and schedule projects, identify activities, estimate activity durations, and determine activity sequence and network diagram.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to allocate and level resources using the CPM by identifying resource requirements by activity and tabulating project resource requirements.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to efficiently compress the schedule by calculating costs to shorten critical path activity durations, selecting least cost activity durations to shorten, and calculating revised project duration and cost.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to manage construction labor costs by measuring installed quantities for construction activities, collecting actual labor workhours by cost account, and assessing labor cost performance using earned value management.
