Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information
Each webinar offers 4.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 4.0 HSW continuing
education hours to architects licensed in all states.

Speakers

Avinash Prasad , PE, PLS, PP, PhD, MSCE, MSEM, F. ASCE, MAREMA

Dr. Prasad is a licensed professional engineer, land surveyor, and professional planner with more than three decades of professional experience in civil engineering, surveying, and management field since his graduation. He has recently earned Ph.D. degree from New York University in Civil Engineering. Dr. Prasad has double M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Engineering Management from New Jersey institute of technology and an B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He has more than 2000 hours of continuous professional education as instructor/participating professional (1990-2022) excluding formal education. Dr. Prasad is a New Jersey state certified emergency medical technician (EMT), emergency medical responder (EMR), fire fighter (FF). He is a fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers and also an active member of several professional organizations such as: AREMA, PMI, AISC, NYSAPLS etc. His technical papers were accepted in multiple ASCE journals and various other organizations like ASCE, AREMA & NYSAPLS conference proceedings for presentation and or publication multiple times.

Course Description: This 4.0 hour course evaluates the practice of railroad engineering with an emphasis on track maintenance.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify the functions of components in railroad track structures, and they will be able to describe their importance in maintaining track safety and function.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify the three main modern methods of track maintenance, and they will be able to choose the method which maintains safety while controlling maintenance costs.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to evaluate railroads’ recommended maintenance schedules to see how they impact safety, and to see whether they efficiently allocate resources.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to describe preventive track maintenance procedures to improve safety and reduce maintenance and repair costs.
