Webinar Instructions
All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.
Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.
Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Continuing Education Credit Information
This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 7.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Greg Karow, C.B.O.
Certified Building Official CEO of Code Educational OpportunitiesMr. Karow is the CEO of Code Educational Opportunities providing education based on current building codes. He also provides service as a building code specialist for design professionals and stakeholders in the industry. Mr. Karow has an extensive background in developing and presenting various types of building code and related seminars. Previous career paths included staff instructor with the International Code Council and with the State of Minnesota Codes and Standards Division. He has instructed in a Building Inspection Technology program at a local community college. Mr. Karow is a certified building official in Minnesota and holds ICC certifications as a Certified Building Official, ICC Plans Examiner, ICC Building Inspector and ICC Building Code Specialist.

Course Description: This seven-hour course analyzes select building code chapters and provisions, mainly focusing on occupancy classifications, fire resistance, fire protection, means of egress, accessibility, ventilation and plumbing systems.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to properly utilize fire walls, fire barriers, partitions, sprinklers and alarm systems depending on the structure and its occupancy classification.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to analyze a structure’s means of egress, including the number of exits, exit access, common path of travel, occupant load, travel distance and discharge.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to examine accessible designs for building entrances, routes and exits.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss attic and crawl space ventilation and determine requirements for bathrooms.
