This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.0 continuing education hours/PDHs to professional engineers and 6.0 HSW contact hours to architects in all states. HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education provider for Indiana engineers. Architect continuing education providers and courses are not subject to preapproval in Indiana.
The American Institute of Architects has approved this course for 6.0 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885). Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA.

Speakers
Dr. Sara Heger
Dr. Sara Heger is an engineer, researcher and instructor in the Onsite Sewage Treatment Program in the Water Resources Center and is an adjunct assistant professor in the Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota. For over 20 years, she has been conducting research and providing education and technical assistance to homeowners, small communities, onsite professionals, and local units of government regarding onsite wastewater treatment. Dr. Heger has presented in over 30 states and provinces regarding the design, installation and management of septic systems and related research. She is president of the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association and is the Education chair of the Minnesota Onsite Wastewater Association. Dr. Heger serves on the NSF International Committee on Wastewater Treatment Systems. She is also the chair of the Minnesota State Advisory Committee on Decentralized Systems. Dr. Heger has a BS degree in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering and an MS degree and a PhD degree in Water Resource Science.
Denise Wright

Ms. Wright currently serves as the training officer for the Indiana State Department of Health-Environmental Public Health Division out of the Indianapolis office. She has focused her career in the on-site sewage system industry providing training and technical assistance to local health department staff, and conducting the review of technologies new to Indiana for on-site components requesting approval for use in Indiana. Ms. Wright has over 25 years of field experience to assist her in troubleshooting onsite system malfunctions and providing assistance to citizens and installers. She is an active participant within the onsite industry. Ms. Wright served the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association as a board member (2014-2017) and as a member of their Online Learning Academy committee. She also served the National Sanitation Foundation as a voting member of the Joint Committee on Wastewater Technology (active member) and the Indiana Onsite Wastewater Professionals Association where she works with others to develop and conduct the certified installer and inspector training sessions/exams. Ms. Wright has assisted the Indiana Environmental Health Association- Wastewater Management Committee with annual education conference preparation.
