Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers up to 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects and landscape architects, and 7.0 PDHs to engineers in most states, including Massachusetts architects. Educators and courses are not subject to pre-approval in Massachusetts.

This course is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 7.0 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885) and the Landscape Architects Continuing Education System for 7.0 HSW PDHs

Architects and engineers seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this seminar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility. Due to Massachusetts-specific content, this seminar is not eligible for New York continuing education credit.

This seminar is designed for the professional enrichment of construction contractors. It has not been approved by any state with a construction contractor continuing education requirement.

Attendance will be monitored and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.


Rhonda Boulé

Ferraro & Boulé

Partner at Ferraro & BouléMs. Boulé has over 20 years of experience in family law, business litigation, construction law, and landlord/tenant disputes. She is a founding partner of Ferraro & Boulé, Attorneys at Law, established in 2006. Ms. Boulé’s business law practice includes construction contracts and disputes, landlord/tenant law, and business formation and litigation. She serves as general counsel to a financial consulting firm in Boston, represents mid-sized construction companies in contract negotiation and collections, and handles evictions and other tenant-related issues for a number of landlords. Ms. Boulé has represented business clients before the Division of Professional Licensure, the Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, the Bid Protest Unit of the Attorney General’s Office, and the Department of Industrial Accidents. She is well-versed in mechanic’s liens and helps secure and collect payment claims of contractors and sub-contractors. Ms. Boulé was educated at New England Law/Boston and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

David L. Fine

Mr. Fine represents and counsels clients in the construction industry, including owners and developers, general contractors and construction managers, specialty trade contractors, suppliers and manufacturers. He represents clients in adverse proceedings such as litigation and arbitration, and he consults regarding risk management, contract preparation and negotiation, and general business advice. Mr. Fine is the chair of his firm’s Construction Law Group and the president of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Central Massachusetts. He holds several leadership positions in local, regional and national construction trade and bar organizations. Mr. Fine was named a Massachusetts “Super Lawyer” by Boston Magazine and Law & Politics in 2017 and 2018, and he was named a Massachusetts “Rising Star” for several years prior. 

Sakib A. Khan, Esq.

Attorney and Principal at Khan Law PLLC in the Greater Boston Area, MA

Mr. Khan advises project owners, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, sureties and consultants on construction-related legal matters. A substantial portion of Mr. Khan’s practice is focused on pre-litigation, dispute avoidance and risk management counseling. This includes construction contract drafting and negotiation and development of strategies for project owners and construction industry clients to address and resolve contract claims for additional time and compensation during the course of the project and without external intervention by legal counsel, much less appearance in court or arbitration. He earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and a J.D. degree from Boston College Law School. Mr. Khan is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York.
