Arborist at B2 Arboriculture, Tree Protection ServicesFor the last decade, Mr. Beaty served as the Campus Arborist at Dartmouth College caring for hundreds of mature trees of historical significance. His particular area of expertise is the care and culture of American elms trees in urban settings. Over this time, he regularly presented on subjects including mature tree management, tree risk management, and big tree measurement. Mr. Beaty’s popular campus tree tour series features discussion of botany, ecology, history, and the relationship between historic architecture and legacy trees. He oversaw tree protection planning and management over a period of intense construction and expansion of the Dartmouth campus and worked with several architects and construction engineers to create innovative solutions to often difficult conflicts between physical and biological infrastructure concerns.
In 2022, Mr. Beaty returned to full time practice as a professional consulting arborist to institutional, municipal, legal and estate clients. He is a long-term registered consulting arborist and member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists, a board certified master arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and an ISA municipal arborist specialist.

PhD Chemical Engineer with University of CincinnatiDr. Govind has worked on biological treatment of wastewater for the past 35 years. He has been a principal investigator of research funded by the USEPA, and he has published several papers and presented papers on this topic at National and International Conferences. He founded PRD Tech in 2004 to advance applications of his research for industrial wastewater treatment and NextGen Septic in 2018 to install advanced septic tanks for single family houses and communities. Over 200 such advanced treatment systems are currently operating in Kentucky and Ohio. Recently, Dr. Rakesh Govind has been working with the Government of India and companies in India, US and Europe to advance ultrafine bubble biomedia reactor (UFBBR) Technology which uses nanobubbles of 90% oxygen and a proprietary, high-surface area moving biomedia to reduce treatment time and hence plant size, and achieve 40% energy reduction, over 80% waste sludge production and 30% capital cost reduction compared to current technologies of moving ned bioreactor (MBBR) and membrane bioreactor (MBR) processes.

Restoration Biologist with the Stream + Wetlands FoundationMs. Keefer, MS has been a restoration biologist for the Stream + Wetlands Foundation (S+W) since June 2020, and she has eight years of experience working in the natural resources field. Electrical Education Specialist, at Faith Technologies, Appleton, WIMr. Cook is a master electrician in Wisconsin and held an Arizona electrical contractor’s license for over 20 years. (K-11) He holds an Administrator’s and a Journeyman’s license in Washington State. Mr. Cook has been in the electrical industry since 1978, and he owned and operated his own electrical contracting business in Arizona. He was an instructor for the Independent Electrical Contractors of Arizona (I.E.C.), a four-year apprenticeship program facilitated at Gateway Community College in Phoenix. Mr. Cook continues to train for the Electric League of Arizona educational program, teaching classes on NFPA 70E, arc flash, grounding and bonding and other topics of the National Electrical Code. Retired Building Official with the City of Columbus, OhioMr. Schutz is a retired building official with the City of Columbus, Ohio. He was previously a senior staff engineer with the International Code Council in product development after several years as their manager of instructors in the ICC Training & Education Department. Mr. Schutz has also served as an assistant architect administrator at the Ohio Board of Building Standards. While with the State of Ohio, he oversaw the new Residential Code of Ohio program, including certification of local residential code departments and personnel. His varied previous experiences include active duty Army and Ohio National Guard experience as a combat engineer officer; building code enforcement for several central Ohio jurisdictions, including ten years as chief building official (CBO) for the City of Powell where he also served as city engineer and director of public services; and chief engineer for the Ohio Department of Health, where Mr. Schutz chaired the state’s plumbing advisory board, was chief of plumbing and was a voting member on the Ohio Board of Building Standards.

Associate Professor and Geological Engineering Program Director at the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of EngineeringProfessor Fratta is an associate professor in Geological Engineering and Civil Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds Civil Engineering degrees from three different universities: a diploma from U.N. Corboda (Argentina), an M.A.Sc. degree from U. of Waterloo (Canada), and a Ph.D. degree from Georgia Tech (USA). He has over 20 years of teaching experience through courses in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and applied geophysics, and he is the author of three books.
