Joy Kuebler
Ms. Kuebler is a graduate of Cornell University’s Landscape Architecture program and has focused her work on the human experience in the landscape, integrating the outdoors and architecture to create unique and inspiring environments. She formed Joy Kuebler Landscape Architect, PC, (JKLA) in 2003 to have a positive impact on the quality of life for people through sensitive and responsible design. JKLA is an award-winning, industry leader in green infrastructure and stormwater management design. In 2010 Ms. Kuebler teamed with Landscape Structures, Inc, to participate in the pilot program for the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES); a land based sustainable practice rating system, documenting a sustainable learning garden at Buffalo Public School #81. She has been the keynote speaker for the Erie County Stormwater Coalition’s bi-annual meeting as well as a presenter for the National Recreation and Parks Association’s annual meeting discussing green infrastructure and playgrounds. She also plays a vital role in her community and profession serving as the New York Upstate Chapter president of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) from 2013-2015, as well as serving on the WNY 2014 Conference Program Committee for the Congress for New Urbanism. Ms. Kuebler is a previous member of the Botanical Gardens Board of Directors, a Buffalo Green Code advisor for various working groups and a member of The Women’s Group of Buffalo.
