All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.
Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Ian B.D. McIntosh, PhD, CxM, CxA+BE, BECxP
Principal/Chief Learning Officer at ianTEACH LLCDr. Ian McIntosh is a principal and chief learning officer of ianTEACH LLC. Providing innovative and strategic performance-based training, ianTEACH LLC serves Engineers, Architects, Construction and Facilities Management professionals in the design, build, operation and maintenance (DBOM) segments of the national building industry. Dr. McIntosh brings his ensemble of innovative passion, technical expertise and business systems acumen to render strategic leadership in the vital area of corporate learning and development initiatives. He is also a program director at University of Wisconsin, Interdisciplinary professional programs (InterPro) in the College of Engineering, where he leads their Facilities and Buildings Systems segment. He is certified as an accredited Manager of the Commissioning Process (CxM) with more than 20 years of dedicated experience in total building commissioning (a quality process) and has managed numerous energy, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and LEED® commissioning projects throughout the nation. As a commissioning provider and mechanical engineer, Dr. McIntosh has prepared and led several owner’s project requirements (OPR) workshops, written and integrated numerous commissioning specifications, co-invented and implemented electronic bar-coded checklists, worked on system manuals and tracked owner cost savings. He has also executed hands-on field work, performed functional performance testing of complex HVAC and BSL-3 laboratory systems/subsystems and coordinated full-scale O&M and user training programs. Dr. McIntosh holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of the City University of New York (CCNY) and earned his Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Solar Energy Lab
at UW-Madison.

Course Description: This six-hour course on whole building commissioning examines the benefits and principles of building commissioning, investigates commissioning processes and guidelines, demonstrates how to integrate commissioning with sustainable building practices, and explores the commissioning process from initial project plan to post-occupancy testing. The course also examines case studies of commissioning projects and lessons learned.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to reference and discuss industry standard building commissioning processes and guidelines, including those from ASHRAE and the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).
Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to identify and describe the benefits of the commissioning process, such as increasing the health and safety of the building, optimizing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and improved facility operations and management.
Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to identify and define the roles and responsibilities of the members of the commissioning team.
