All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Continuing Education Credit Information

Ken Griffin, MEng, PMP

President of Underwater Engineering Services, Inc.

Mr. Griffin serves GPI as the President of Underwater Engineering Services after his initial 20 years as a diver and 10 years as a consultant. Upon graduating with his Master’s from the University of Alabama, He served as an Airborne Infantryman in the Army before attending Commercial Diving Training. Once training in commercial diving, Mr. Griffin began working in both the Offshore and Inland Diving Sectors.

Course Title: Underwater Excavations and Foundations

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This three-hour course explains why and how underwater excavations and foundation construction are performed. The course will focus on specific strategies, such as using caissons and cofferdams for excavations and driven piles for foundations, and explore potential problems and their solutions.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss the specific challenges associated with underwater excavation and foundations and explain how underwater site assessments are performed.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to describe the process by which material is excavated below the water using caissons and cofferdams.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to analyze underwater foundation design and construction processes using driven piles while paying attention to quality control.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify and solve common problems that may arise in underwater excavations and explore applicable case studies.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with excavation practices and basic foundation design
