The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) has approved this course for 6.0 total CLE credits, which includes 5.0 general CLE credits and 1.0 ethics CLE credit.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

Speakers

Anna Berman

Partner with Kutak Rock, in Kansas City, MO

Ms. Berman is a trial lawyer who represents clients in a wide variety of cases, including breaches of fiduciary duties, contract disputes, theft of trade secrets, commercial and consumer auto finance and creditors’ rights issues. She counsels clients during the litigation process, including advising on risk management strategies and representing clients through mediation, arbitration, trial and appeal. Ms. Berman is particularly adept at navigating the discovery phase of litigation. She will skillfully manage data collections, productions, depositions and motion practice in even the most cumbersome cases. A member of the firm’s eDiscovery Practice Group, she is well-versed in document management systems and the latest ESI issues. 

Margaret D. Lyons

Attorney and Partner at Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C., in Wichita, KS

Growing up in several cities across Kansas, Ms. Lyons found her home in Wichita while attending Newman University. At Newman University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing degree with a minor in Communications. Ms. Lyons was also a graduate of the Newman Honors Program, as well as the 2011 recipient of the Leona Ablah Award for service and leadership. Because of the preparation she received at Newman University, she earned a scholarship to the University of Kansas School of Law, where she graduated in 2014. Ms. Lyons is an active member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations and was accepted into the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2025 by unanimous vote. She is licensed to practice law in Kansas and focuses her practice on family law.

Tony A. Potter

Attorney with Potter Law Office LLC, in Wichita, KS

Mr. Potter graduated from Washburn University School of Law in December 1994, and he practiced law in Northwest Kansas until 2013 when he moved his practice to Wichita, Kansas. His practice focuses on family law and cases dealing with divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, grandparent visitation, and post-decree modifications. During his career Mr. Potter has handled more than 30 appeals and participated in mediation in more than 800 cases. He has appeared as counsel in 23 different judicial districts in Kansas encompassing more than 85 counties, the Federal District Court for Kansas, Kansas Supreme Court and Kansas Court of Appeals. Mr. Potter is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Wichita Bar Association, Wichita Bar Association Family Law Committee, including serving as chair of the committee currently, and from 2020 to 2023, and the Northwest Kansas Bar Association. In 2019 he was named a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, as well as receiving certification as a trained mediator and a trained arbitrator by the Academy. He graduated from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, with an emphasis on family law in 2018, and is also a member of the National Board of Trial Attorneys. Mr. Potter holds and “AV” attorney, peer rated for high professional achievement by Martindale-Hubbell, and he enjoys a 10.0 rating from the Avvo attorney website. He and his lovely wife Corrie make their home in Wichita, and spend time with their children, looking after numerous pets, reading, dancing, and trying to spend as much time outside as Kansas weather allows.

Phillip Raine

Partner with Chartwell Law, inKansas City, MO

With more than a decade of litigation experience, Mr. Raine represents corporations, insurers, medical providers, transportation companies, and individuals in state and federal courts throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado. His practice encompasses a wide range of civil litigation, with particular concentration on trucking and transportation defense, general liability, consumer protection, serious personal injury, and wrongful death matters. At Chartwell, Mr. Raine plays a key role in the firm’s growing Kansas City trucking and transportation practice, representing motor carriers, logistics providers, and insurers in matters involving catastrophic injury, property damage, and regulatory compliance. He has served as both first and second chair in jury and bench trials, as well as arbitration hearings, and is experienced in every stage of litigation—from early case evaluation and strategy through trial and appeal. Mr. Raine earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri, graduating in the top 25% of his class, and his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Truman State University. He is active in the legal community, serving as President-Elect and Vice President of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, where he has also held leadership positions in the Young Lawyers Section. He is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and has authored and presented on topics related to arbitration and extra-contractual litigation.

Ashlyn Yarnell

Senior Associate with Ronald W Nelson P. A., in Lenexa, KS

Ms. Yarnell graduated from Kansas State University in History and a Minor in Spanish and Leadership, with a Certificate in Conflict Resolution. She received her J. D. from Washburn University School of Law, with a Certificate in Family Law. While at Washburn University School of Law, Yarnell engaged in Competitive Trial Advocacy Team, where she was a Regional Semifinalist in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Yarnell received the 2012 Missouri Bar Plan Foundation Scholarship for Ethics and Professionalism, and she is a member of the National Order of Barristers. While at Washburn, she was a Washburn Law Admissions Ambassador, Blog Author, Panelist, and Tour Guide. While in law school, she served as a Representative-at-Large and as American Bar Association Representative for the Washburn Student Bar Association, and as the Vice-President and Events Coordinator for the Washburn Law School Chapter of the Hispanic American Law Student Association.
